TÊTE CHARCUTERIE

Location - Chicago, IL

the challenge

Tête Charcuterie’s design was grounded in a rich history of the industrial age and the meat packing industry, delivering a contemporary aesthetic fit for the increasingly competitive "restaurant row" on West Randolph Street.

Tête was located in a former cold storage space in Chicago's Fulton Market, a historic meat packing district. From an exposed skeleton of i-beams and columns, exposed timber ceilings and exposed brick walls to a concrete bar, raw metal detailing and polished concrete flooring, Tête's design represents some of Chicago's industrial past while bringing the tradition of charcuterie to the present day.

the solution

Mid-century modern furniture design as well as a variety of custom pendant light fixtures update the look and complement Tête Charcuterie’s cuisine and artful plate presentation. The open kitchen integrated directly into the seating area, as well as the intimate charcuterie bar and glass enclosed sausage preparation area, create strong focal points in the dining room, giving the customer the feel and comfort of being in one's home kitchen. Tête Charcuterie truly captures the energy and neighborhood ambiance of the French delicatessen a la Chicago's Fulton Street market.
