THE CHALLENGE
One of our clients, Brad, became disabled when he was at age 40, losing his hands and of one of his legs. He needed this new home to be ADA compliant to accommodate his needs.
THE SOLUTION
We changed all the door handles to be lever so that Brad can easily access within his house. The master bathroom was definitely one of the key features where we demolished everything so that he can roll in to the space, including a shower, with his wheelchair.
We collaborated with Blue Pearl Stone to create this beautiful, modern home in River North neighborhood of Chicago. (You can read more about this project on Blue Pearl Stone’s blog as well)
BEFORE
AFTER
Master bathroom is another key feature in this house. Brad can get in to the shower without getting off from his wheelchair. There is a linear bench along the wall, a continuous ledge on all three sides of the wall, and a plenty of floor space to leave his wheelchair to take a shower.
